We have just got back from our trip to Lake Garda and I just wanted to thank you for all your firm did to make it memorable. My husband has never been a very good traveller and gets anxious about complicated arrangements. I won’t say he was never anxious this time either, but he did admit he didn’t really need to be. All the arrangements worked seamlessly. We enjoyed all the hotels for different reasons. The Wellenburg in Zurich was very comfortable and central enough for us to make the most of our short time there. We really liked the Villa Rosa: very stylish and comfortable room and very good food. The service was good too. We had one day going about the lake on a ferry: first to Sirmione, then to Garda, where we had lunch and then to Torri, which was our favourite– very, very pretty and not as overrun with people as Sirmione was. We went to Verona one day and took the bus tour to save my legs, and the last day we just stayed in Desenzano, visiting the Roman Villa in the morning and watching the fireworks (which we didn’t know were going to happen) from our room at night. The scenery on the trains was fabulous, as we expected, but the icing on the cake was definitely the Grand Suisse Majestic in Montreux. Very F. Scott Fitzgerald, I thought and as we sat eating our dinner on the terrace as the sun set behind the mountains we both thought, “It just doesn’t get any better than this!” So thank you again.
