Day 2 – Incomparable Paris
Enjoy breakfast at leisure this morning before exploring some of the highlights of the ‘city of lights’. An ideal way to fully immerse yourself in the culture and to appreciate the diverse nature of the city, is by exploring on foot. You might like to start at the imposing Arc de Triomphe and stroll down the idyllic pedestrian mall of the Champs Élysées, frequently described as ‘the world’s most beautiful avenue’. From here wend your way through the beautiful Jardin des Tuileries or along the river Seine past the impressive gothic architecture of the Cathedral of Notre Dame. Perhaps marvel in the artistic treasure troves of the impressive Louvre and Musée d’Orsay, home to masterpieces including the Mona Lisa and Monet’s Gardens at Giverny respectively. Alternatively, view the city from a different perspective with a cruise aboard one of the Bâteaux Mouches (payable locally), along the Seine or with a trip up the Eiffel Tower.
