Day 1 – London to Cannes

Your holiday begins as you stroll through beautifully restored London St Pancras International station take the time to admire the stunning glass roof.  Then sit back, relax and watch the countryside glide past as you travel by Eurostar to Lille at speeds of up to 186mph.  Enjoy the light meal and drinks served on board in Standard Premier Class (Eurostar’s 1st class for leisure travellers). On arrival in Lille Europe station walk the short distance to the TGV platform. Here you continue your journey by TGV through France to the lovely resort of Cannes.

Enjoy fabulous scenery as you look out on the Mediterranean sea from the comfort of your seat as your train snakes its way along the coast to the palm-tree lined town of Cannes, famous for its International Film Festival. On arrival in Cannes you may prefer to walk the 400 metres to your hotel for the next 4 nights, the highly-rated, boutique Hotel Le Cavendish (4 star).

Day 2, 3 and 4 – Cannes and the Côte d’Azur

Stroll along the streets in and around the harbour to see how the ‘other half’ live on their luxury yachts.

You might decide to explore the beautiful Côte d’Azur and possibly visit some of the other attractive towns along the coast such as Monte Carlo and St. Tropez, all easily accessible by train. You might like to go to Nice and visit the lovely old town and stroll along the Promenade des Anglais or head for the Matisse and Chagall museums. For a different view of the French Riviera take a car inland to discover the charm and beauty of the provençal hills and countryside.

You also have the opportunity for a wonderful day trip on the ‘Train des Pignes’ from Nice into Provence.

Day 5 – Cannes to London

You return to Cannes station for the journey home and time to say farewell to the French Riviera. As you board the TGV service to Paris, sit back and relax as your high-speed train whisks you virtually the entire length of France from south to north. On arrival in Paris your private taxi transfer takes you to the Gare du Nord for your onward journey to London on board the Eurostar service.

The pace has quickened, yet the memories remain to savour over your light meal and drinks, and beyond, as you return to London St. Pancras and the final leg of your journey home.
