Discover spectacular landscapes, dominated by leafy plantations that give way to bustling cities, a dazzling display of exotic wildlife and a wide range of historic monuments all from the comfort of your choice of luxurious trains.
India’s diverse landscapes and cultures are united by colour, which controls every aspect of life. From the infusion of green spices and tea leaves, to the treasure trove that is the painted blue city of Jodhpur and from the Taj Mahal’s white marble, meticulously inlaid with semi-precious stone, to Delhi’s imposing Red Fort, travelling by train with Planet Rail allows you to tour through the incredible palette of India.
I just wanted to say a big thank you to you for all the effort you put in, at very short notice, to organise what was a truly superb holiday.
We had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed everywhere we went. To make a great holiday even better, on our last night on Lake Garda, we got engaged!
Brief Feedback on travel
Rail Travel: All great – real pleasure to travel first class – all on time and smooth running
Ferries: Fine – Genoa (where we entered mainland Italy) was an unexpected pleasure – lovely city
Taxi transfers – all very good – on time and nice people
Brief feedback on Hotels
Marseille – Nice hotel right on the old port – everything within easy walking distance – boat tours literally across the street from the hotel (we visited the Calanques). Nice quiet room and helpful staff.
Stintino – The shuttle service to the beach was excellent and the staff were terrific – really friendly and helpful. And the breakfasts – oh my word! The best we have ever tasted. We read the reviews before we went and everybody was talking about the breakfasts and we thought well, how good can a breakfast be? Answer – unbelievable!
Garda – WHAT A VIEW! Our room was on the rooftop and had a terrace directly looking onto the lake. I would have said the breakfast was tremendous. but we had been spoiled by Stintino! Very helpful staff (we used the hotel’s bikes and they gave good advice on boat trips and train times to Venice).
Once again, many thanks Guy – brilliant holiday thanks to you and your team
