Perhaps the world’s most famous and inspiring rail journey, the Trans-Siberian Express, traverses from Europe, east to the Orient. Beginning in Russia’s capital Moscow, it climbs through the magnificent Urals, across the majestic Russian steppes and the wild, barren and windswept tundra. Continuing beside the shores of beguiling Lake Baikal, passing beyond Asia to the Sea of Japan as it terminates in Vladivostok.
We thought the Italian trains from Milan were superbly comfortable and were also very impressed by the station at Milan. We had a very warm and friendly welcome at the hotel. The room was lovely, beautiful marble bathroom, and a wide choice at breakfast. It was very central and after a long day’s sightseeing we twice used the spa facilities of steam room and pool to ease aching feet and backs. An excellent choice.
The hotel at Montreux was a delight – and only 20 yards across the road from the station! I’m glad we’d upgraded to a lake view room because we had a large balcony, the weather was sunny and warm and the views fabulous. We ate at the hotel restaurant and had the most wonderful meal.
All in all we had a lovely time and hope to use your services again.
