UK Luxury Trains

“Step on board and the real world evaporates behind you” is a sentiment often voiced by travellers on the British Pullman train. Together with its sister train, the Northern Belle, its magnificent period carriages enable guests to experience all the magic of the Orient-Express without leaving Britain.

British Pullman

British Pullman

The British Pullman is glorious in every respect. Originally conceived as "Palaces on Wheels" by George Mortimer Pullman, each lavishly appointed carriage is an original 1920s and 30s masterpiece from the golden age of rail travel.

Lovingly restored with breathtaking attention to detail, each car is a symphony of intricate marquetry, inlaid mosaic floors, sparkling crystal and beautiful Art Deco design.

Relax within deeply upholstered armchairs and celebrate the sovereignty of Britain's gloriously unique heritage. Sip champagne and embrace an element of the world's most romantic and exclusive adventure.

Northern Belle

Northern Belle

Northern Belle embodies the distinctive opulence and craftsmanship associated with the classic 'Belle' trains of the 1930s. Expertly and exquisitely detailed, each carriage bears the name of a stately home and is furnished with specially commissioned designs, fabrics and beautiful marquetry.

Exquisitely laid tables with starched table cloths, along with uniquely branded silverware, emphasize the level of sumptuosity; the artistic adornment and luxurious furnishings complete the elegant and comfortable carriages. Breathe deep, and embrace the intimate 'country house' atmosphere of each unique carriage.

Royal Scotsman

The Royal Scotsman

A holiday on The Royal Scotsman is regarded as one of the world's great travel experiences. Encounter Scotland's ever-changing landscapes of sweeping glens, towering peaks and mirror-calm lochs as the train weaves through wild countryside and along virgin stretches of coast.

The splendour of the Observation Car provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy the delights of Scotland.

Originally launched in May 1985, the train, in its current form, dates from May 1990. The owners put together a set of carriages (all rather different), which were rented in and called The Royal Scotsman, launching in the Spring of 1985. The carriage leases ran for five years and it was a success – the train won the Queen’s Award for Export.
